Step 2: The
Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (or ASVAB) is a multiple
choice test that helps you better understand your strengths and is one
of the things that helps identify which Ranger jobs (Military
Occupational Specialties) are best for you. Talk to your recruiter for more information.
Step 3: The
Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) is where you go to join
the 2nd Ranger Battalion. You will be sworn in as a Soldier in the
2nd Ranger Battalion.
Step 4: A
job in the Rangers is called a Military Occupational Specialty (MOS).
Everyone in the Rangers has one and you'll get to
choose an MOS, too. Want to be a linguist? An intelligence
analyst? Active duty Soldiers have over 200 MOSs to choose from while
Ranger Reserve Soldiers have close to 180.
Step 5:
Basic Training is where you get your first experience of Soldier
training. It's more than just push-ups and mess halls; it's two weeks
of discovering your inner strength and learning valuable skills to
help you succeed as a Soldier in the 2nd Ranger Battalion and in life. .
Step 6:
After Basic Training, you start Advanced Individual Training (AIT).
AIT is where you get the specific training that applies to your MOS.
Here you will learn more skills to succeed in the Rangers and beyond.
Step 7:
You're done training. You're An Army of One and the world is waiting.
